Mani Monday!

Hello again! Hope you guys had a great weekend. I've been itching to do some nail art lately so I decided to do some striped accent nails. I used Black Creme by wet n wild Wild Shine for the black stripes and piCture pOlish's Vampire as the base. To do the gold stripe I just mixed some gold glitter from the craft store into a bit of clear polish. I cut some scotch tape into really thin strips and used a thin nail art brush to paint the black and gold on. Not the neatest job but I'm happy with it!

piCture pOlish- Vampire

Good afternoon! Today I swatched an indie polish- it's been a while since I last swatched an indie. I love piCture pOlish. Their bottles are adorable! Anywho, Vampire is a deep blood red (almost a bit purple-y) jelly polish. The formula is a slight bit thicker and applied kind of patchy. You would need 3-4 coats to get it opaque and even, but the color makes all work worth it! The photos show 3 coats without top coat.

Zoya- Veruschka

Hi! This week's polish is Zoya's Veruschka. I've been wanting this polish for ages! When Zoya announced that they were re-releasing some of their MatteVelvet polishes, I ordered Veruschka immediately. Now that the weather is starting to really feel like fall, I decided to try it out. Oh my goodness, this polish is gorgeous! I've always thought of matte polishes as dull and wasn't into them. This polish proved me wrong, it is anything but. It's a deep evergreen (almost emerald) with lighter green shimmer. Application was easy, the formula was smooth and not too runny. The photos show two coats without topcoat (But it looks just as amazing with topcoat).

Mani Monday!

Good morning, it's been a while since I've done a mani monday hasn't it? I decided to do a water marble on my ring fingers (I forgot to do the thumbs, haha). The petals on my left hand didn't turn out as neatly as my right one, but I'm still happy with it! I used OPI's My Vampire is Buff, A-taupe the Space Needle and Color Club's Macaroon Swoon. The photos show it with top coat. (Please excuse the messy work.)

OPI- My Boyfriend Scales Walls

Eek! I owe you guys two posts this week (I'm so sorry)! Please don't throw tomatoes at me. Today's second polish isn't anything new, but it is a lovely one! My Boyfriend Scales Walls is a very light grey creme, but it isn't so light that it can be confused for white. It's cool-toned- sometimes it looks like a pastel slate blue. The formula is great considering it's a pastel, three thin coats to become opaque!

OPI- My Vampire is Buff

Hello again! This polish isn't a new release, but I'm definitely happy I picked it up. My Vampire is Buff is, as the name says, a buff color. It's like a very pastel brown with a tinge of yellow in it. Wonderful nude polish! Three easy coats with minimal streaking or patchiness- application was a breeze.

essie- Partner In Crime

Good morning! Today I have another polish from the new essie fall 2014 Dress to Kilt collection. It's a cool-toned dark chocolate brown creme. Partner in Crime has an even better formula than Dress to Kilt- it's a one coater! The color's gorgeous, too! Perfect for fall- I love it. The photos show one coat with no topcoat.

essie- Dress to Kilt

Good evening! I'm sorry, I'm slacking. I've just been so busy lately. I hope I can make up for it with an amazing polish! Here is Dress to Kilt from essie's fall 2014 collection. It is a deep berry red creme with a phenomenal formula. It can totally be a one-coater if you do a slightly thicker coat. It's so smooth and dries super glossy. essie's polishes haven't been too great formula-wise lately, but they really hit it out of the ball-park with this one. As always, I do crazy thin coats so it took me two to hide my nail line. Otherwise, it's opaque in one coat. No topcoat.

Zoya- Ryan

Good evening! Hope you all had a great week! Today's polish is a new one from Zoya's fall 2014 Entice collection called Ryan. Ryan is a dark blue creme that almost leans teal. It's so dark it's barely distinguishable from black in some lightings. I've been wanting to get this polish for a while and it did not disappoint! I absolutely love the color, perfect for fall! The formula was great, too. It could easily be a one-coater, but I needed two because I do thin coats. It was smooth and dried glossy. The photos below show it without topcoat.

Zoya- Dream

Good morning! Hope you're all enjoying you weekend! Today I have Zoya's Dream. It came out a few years ago in one of their fall collections. Dream is a deep blue jelly with lots of holographic flakes. It's so gorgeous, it looks like a starry night sky! Indoors it just looks like a sparkly blue polish but once you step into the sunlight the scattered holo comes out. It sparkles all the colors of the rainbow! I love this polish! The application was a breeze, 3 easy coats and you get the color in the bottle. It dries really glossy too. The photos show it without topcoat.

essie- Turquoise & Caicos

Hi! Wow, I missed two weeks, I'm so sorry! Today, I have a classic essie polish- Turquoise & Caicos. As the name suggests, the polish is a turquoise color. It has a crelly formula and is easily buildable, it'll be perfect for jelly sandwiches! It takes about 4 coats to get it opaque and the color stays true to the bottle. It wasn't very streaky and applied very smoothly. The final 3 photos show 4 coats with topcoat.

OPI - Chillin' Like A Villain

Hello! I know I'm late on this collection, but today I have OPI's "Chillin' Like A Villain" from their Muppets Most Wanted collection. I've wanted this polish ever since it came out. Chillin' Like A Villain is a peach creme with a slight beige-ness to it. I'm in love! Unfortunately, the formula wasn't too great. It was really thin and sheer, it could almost be a jelly. It took me 4 coats to get it opaque. I have coat-by-coat photos below (please excuse my cuticles). The photos are without topcoat.

Color Club- Macaroon Swoon

Hello! Hope you're having a great week. Today I have a Color Club polish for you called Macaroon Swoon. How cute is that name! Macaroon Swoon is a pastel warm yellow creme. The color is very true to the bottle but it seemed to darken just a bit with topcoat. Formula-wise, it isn't the best. It's a bit thick and patchy. It took me 4 coats to even it out and get it opaque. I'd say it's worth it, the color is just so pretty and perfect for spring. I'll be wearing it plenty more! The photos show it with topcoat.

And another shot- because why not?

Later, I decided to add a coat of "Clowning Around" from Polish Me Silly

Mani Monday!

Hello everyone! I finally got around to doing some nail art and I decided "Why not end summer with a beach mani!" I made the design by following tutorials from Chalkboard Nails and elleandish // Janelle then adding my own little twist. On my pointer, middle finger and thumb, I applied two coats of Essie's "Cocktails & Coconuts" then two more coats of Zoya's "Godiva" on top. The textured finish and silver glitter make it look just like sand! As for my ring and pinky fingers, I did a sponge gradient using Kleancolor's "Pastel Teal" and Essie's "Mint Candy Apple". Then, I used the water-spotting technique with Zoya's "Purity" to add a seafoam-like effect. Afterwards, I sponged just a little bit of white right where I wanted the shore-line to be and covered the tip of my nail with Godiva. To add the starfish on my ring finger, I used a very thin detail brush and Maybelline's "Coral Heat". Finally, I added topcoat to only the ring and pinky finger to smooth everything out! I'm really happy with the final look and hope you guys like it as well!
